I’m sharing some “How-to-Flow” today partly because there’s no real good from retaining what I’ve just re-discovered and because there’s a whole lot of good in it for me from writing to share. I’m writing to solidify what I learned while I actively practice the art and science of entering a state of #flow

Alright, let’s chat about discovering that “sweet spot” where your task hits the Goldilocks zone — neither too easy nor too hard, just like finding the perfect cuppa tea temperature!

Picture yourself playing a video game. 🎮 If it’s a breeze, like rescuing the princess without breaking a sweat, it can be a bit dull. We all crave a bit of a challenge to spice things up, right?

Now, if the game is on mega-hard mode, like a fire-breathing dragon popping up every few seconds, it can be frustrating. Too tough and you might feel like tossing the controller and calling it quits.

Finding the sweet spot is akin to adjusting the game difficulty settings. It’s akin to saying, “Hey, game, make it engaging enough to keep me hooked, but not so tough that I throw in the towel.”

In reality, it’s the same with your tasks. Let’s take learning a new skill, say, playing the guitar. If it’s a cinch, like strumming nursery rhymes when you’re practically a rockstar, it won’t be exhilarating. But trying to master a complex solo right off the bat? It could be a bit much and you might find yourself hitting a sour note.

So, hunting for the sweet spot involves choosing tasks that are just right for you. Not so easy that you’re yawning and not so hard that you’re tearing your hair out. It’s like nailing the perfect level in your go-to game — challenging enough to keep you on your toes, but not so tricky that you’re left scratching your head.

And guess what? When you discover that sweet spot, you can hit your stride, enjoy the process and maybe even uncover some hidden talents along the way! 🚀✨
