Exciting News: Welcome to Windborne Wisdom! 🚀

Tumbleweeds dressed up as Wizards and Wisdom Seekers

An intention at the start of July 2024 and a few conversations later turned into a new client for my client! Here’s the backstory:

I embarked on a new adventure - my very own WhatsApp community called the Windborne Wisdom WhatsApp (WWW) Group! 🎉 The mission? To make the entrepreneurial journey a whole lot less lonely. As an entrepreneur myself, I’ve spent years navigating the solo path and I’ve seen firsthand how easy it is to feel discouraged when the going gets tough. I’ve pivoted so often as a result of planned transformation and like everyone else as a result of disruption notwithstanding the pandemic, that my latest pivot is that of a Change Manager aka Reinvention Practitioner certified by the Reinvention Academy’s science and research-based methodology and tools.

Change can feel daunting and many entrepreneurs grapple with the question: How do you pivot your business model or transition from entrepreneurship to employment while staying true to your entrepreneurial spirit? It’s a tricky dance, but one worth mastering!

This topic is especially vital here in South Africa, where the quest for job creation often leads us to ponder: Who’s really going to create more jobs - the government or entrepreneurs? For me, the answer is clear.

Our little community of about 35 members is all about making a meaningful impact, not just for ourselves but for society, families and the economy at large.

Now, let’s talk about our logo - a tumbleweed! It’s a visual reminder to harvest wisdom from within our group. Just like tumbleweeds roll along, scattering seeds and sparking new growth, we aim to cultivate peer learning and disseminate insights that can flourish in our entrepreneurial journeys. By embracing biomimicry, we’re learning from nature’s rhythms to inspire our growth and resilience.

WWW started as an experiment! I didn’t wait for things to be perfect to launch…I was afraid but did it anyway. This was made easier by giving up control and lightening my burden by committing to not being attached to the outcome. Thanks to an amazing coach and a principle of reinvention, which focuses on fewer decisions and more experiments, I took the plunge. I’ve learned so much from the questions and conversations and even more about community management. I don’t feel so alone anymore!

We’re rolling and while we don’t know exactly where we’re headed, as long as there’s meaningful exchange in our dialogue, we’re on the right path. Our approach is to dance to the music that’s already playing, meaning we create courses and online conversations from what emerges organically within the group. Be warned, this is a WhatsApp group that respects data and space limitations on devices. So we post little to no images or videos once a week, mostly on a Tuesday and of course, it’s called #TumbleweedTuesday.

Some of the topics that members engaged with the most include the infamous topic of fear. In July, we launched with #FailParty and #FailPartyFriday, where group members shared their failures. Hats off to them for being vulnerable so the rest of us could learn. From that, I took the stories shared, hardly ever rewrote them, but spent time adding reflection moments and used appreciative inquiry every so often to encourage deep thoughts in the hopes of enabling members to drive the shifts they want to see in their businesses.

I truly believe that conversations can change the world, and that’s the heartbeat of this space. If you’re ready to explore, reflect and engage with fellow entrepreneurs, come join us on this whimsical journey!

Here’s to building a brighter future together! 🌈
